How to Become a District Advance Special

District Advance Specials are those ministries being lifted up for special support within a district. Although listed on all United Methodist Church Remittance Forms (for church treasurers), they do not automatically receive funding. Gifts to District Advance Specials are voluntary.

District Advance Specials can be applied for at any time. They shall be proposed by someone closely related to the project and shall be recommended to the Mission Funding Team by the District Board of Global Ministries and the District Superintendent.

District Advance Specials must be missional in nature, be approved by the Conference Mission Funding Team (after recommendation by the District), and be within the bounds of the North Indiana Conference (certain Indiana Area programs may be the exception). Advance funds are intended to augment program costs rather than salaries.
