The Advance Conference Advance Specials Becoming A District Advance Special Becoming A Conference Ministry Grants Available NIC Missionaries Hispanic/Latino Minsitries North Indiana Conference PO Box 869 Marion, IN 46953 1.800.783.5138 info@nicumc.org	How to Become a Conference Ministry Agencies and churches are able to apply for conference apportionment funds to assist them in their outreach ministry. Ministry applications can be received from the District Missions Committee, the District Office, on-line (below), or from the Conference Office (800-783-5138). Applications can be made annually and are due by mid-June. Applications are reviewed by the District Mission committee, which also visits the ministry. The District committee makes a recommendation to the Mission Funding Resource Team, who distributes funds from conference apportionments. Ministries are eligible for funding for up to five years. All ministries must be connected to the United Methodist church, with at least one United Methodist on their board of directors. This helps to ensure that the goals and vision of ministries fit the Conference goals of making Disciples for Jesus Christ and meeting a need in their community. Emerging Ministries Ministries which are just beginning may apply for an Emerging Ministry Grant. This is seed money ($500 to $1000) to help a ministry in its start-up phase.
