Convenant Relationship Program

The Covenant Relationship Program is one of three financial support bases for United Methodist mission personnel commissioned by the General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM).

  • First, the World Service Fund provides basic financial resources for the core ministries of our denomination.
  • Second, undesignated Pledges to Mission of local United Methodist Women’s units support missionaries.
  • Finally, Covenant Relationships provide a third base of support in second-mile giving through the Advance for Christ and His Church.

Through Covenant Relationships, congregations commit to on-going relationships, prayer, and financial support with missionaries. Missionaries covenant to communicate with supporting congregations and to visit them when they are in the United States on itineration. Married couples are considered to be one entity. You can support either or both.

Will your church make a covenant to keep our mission personnel in ministry?

A congregation establishes a covenant when it agrees to make an annual contribution of: $5 per member or $2,500 per congregation.

Please give first consideration to mission personnel supported and promoted by your Annual Conference.
