How You Can Help
with Our Church-Planting Effort In the North Indiana Conference
- PRAY. Regularly pray for our conference's church-planting effort. Encourage your whole church to begin praying as well.
- SUBSCRIBE. Subscribe to a free monthly one-page newsletter describing our conference's church-planting/revitalization effort (also known as the 2010 Plan). This will include specific prayer concerns that you can pray for. To subscribe, notify Ed Fenstermacher at ed@nicumc.org and he'll add you to the mailing list.
- GIVE. Give a monetary donation to a new-church plant or give to your district's "church builders" fund (if it has one).
- EXPLORE. Begin exploring with your pastor and others in your congregation who God might be calling you to reach who are unlikely to attend your existing facility (e.g. those living in a mobile home park). Begin visiting other congregations that have effectively reached such groups. Ask questions. Prayerfully consider "what ifs."
- SEEK PARTNERS. If your church is interested in exploring the possibility of helping to start a new congregation, contact your church's district superintendent or Ed Fenstermacher at the Conference Service Center in Marion (ed@nicumc.org).
- GO. Lay persons can serve as a part of a new church's core leadership team, helping to start the new congregation. They can be short-term "missionaries" and eventually return to their original congregation, or they can become members of the newly planted church.
