Delegation Meeting Summary:
November 13, 2003
The North Indiana Conference delegation for General and Jurisdictional conferences in 2004 met on November 13, 2003, at New Life UMC in Mexico with 23 members present. Items such as housing arrangements, the General Conference Agenda and Program, General Conference Packets, travel plans and minutes of the last meeting were discussed after devotions by Brian Witwer and prayer time led by David Byrum.
All delegates were asked to sign up with one of the eleven General Conference Legislative Groups to participate in study and discussions on the issues before each group.
The delegation decided upon the process in which balloting for the episcopal candidate that would be endorsed by the group. The delegation would take a paper ballot and the person with no less than 75% of the votes would be endorsed. Votes of those who were not present would count toward the total. One written ballot was taken and Rev. Mark Fenstermacher received in excess of the 75% of the total votes.
The delegation surrounded Mark as they closed the meeting with prayer.
The next meetings will take place at New Life United Methodist Church, Mexico, on Thursday, January 15, 4 PM, and Thursday, February 12, at 10 AM.
Prayer requests: Pray for the delegation as they consider ways in which they might encourage and support Mark Fenstermacher's candidacy for the episcopacy.
