Delegation Meeting Summary:
January 15, 2004

The General and Jurisdictional Conference Delegation for the North Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church met on January 15, 2004, at New Life United Methodist Church, Mexico. Twenty-two members heard devotions led by Toni Carmer before focusing their attention on business matters.

A proposal to pair delegates with someone else in the North Indiana Conference as prayer partners for General Conference was approved and will be organized by Paula Shrock. A handout from the General Conference Prayer Ministry website, www.gcprayerministry.org, explained the process and the goals of the initiative. The need for prayer partners for Jurisdictional Conference Delegates will be addressed also if enough people volunteer to be prayer partners.

Discussion then centered on episcopal leadership the needs of our Conference. Delegates gave updates on issues that will be addressed by legislative groups. The General Conference website, www.gc2004.org, contains links to legislation that is being introduced by general boards and agencies.

The next meeting will take place Thursday, February 12, 2004, at New Life UMC, Mexico.
