UMW Youth & Young Adult Project Funds

Description

The Standing Rules of the United Methodist Women of North Indiana Conference states: "There shall be a fund for Youth & Young Adults Service Projects supported by voluntary contributions from local units, District & Conference organizations."

This fund is administered by a committee on the North Indiana Conference United Methodist Womens board, chaired by the Coordinator for Education & Interpretation.

This fund provides scholarships for Youth and Young Adults to participate in work/study/travel experiences which provide educational experiences and develop leadership in the youth and young adults of our conference. These scholarships are for youth and young adults who will be involved in projects which the General Board of Global Ministries supports and approves.

Application

From an Individual:

  1. A personal letter explaining the date, location, and purpose of the request
  2. A letter from the local church pastor (Individual must be a member of a United Methodist Church)
  3. A letter of recommendation from the District Superintendent

From a Group:

  1. A descriptive letter from the leader of the group outlining the date, location, number of participants, proposed budget and amount of the request
  2. A letter of recommendation from the District Superintendent
