In cooperation with the Board of Laity, the Cabinet, Division on Ministry Development, Board of Ordained Ministry, North Indiana Conference.

Explore the role of the laity and the pastor as they work together to provide effective ministry in the local church and beyond. A team of the pastor and at least two laypersons are urged to attend (suggest Lay Leader, Lay Member to Annual Conference, Pastor/Staff Parish Chairperson, Council or Board Chairperson or their representatives).


REV. DR. DOUG ANDERSON is executive director of the Bishop Rueben Job Center of Leadership Development at Dakota Wesleyan University. He was a district superintendent and pastor of several growing churches of different sizes in the United Methodist Church. He has led a variety of practical church seminars and consultations for over 20 years. He is a member of the Academy for Spiritual Formation of the Upper Room. And best of all, his seminars are energetic, effective and fun.

ED FENSTERMACHER has served as the North Indiana Conference’s Associate Director for Church Development and Revitalization since 1995. In this position, he has consulted with scores of United Methodist Churches throughout the Conference. He also assists the Conference in the church planting movement. Mr. Fenstermacher, a layperson, spent over ten years as the Director of Church Growth and Assimilation for Simpson United Methodist Church in central Fort Wayne. He was a delegate to the 1984 General Conference and the 1984, 1988, 1992, and 2000 Jurisdictional Conferences.
