Independent Study

MMinisters who wish to withdraw to a library setting for independent study for a minimum of three days to a maximum of one week are eligible for scholarship aid to help defray room and board costs, and registration costs if the study is pursued at a seminary or educational institution providing a faculty consultant.

To qualify, a full time minister will determine in advance the ministry area he/she wishes to study, and will develop a tentative bibliography with an outline of the project as perceived.

At the conclusion of the period of study, the minister is requested to prepare a statement no more than one page in length, outlining the results of his/her study and an evaluation of the experience to be submitted to the District Superintendent and Associate Director of Recruitment and Leadership Development. It is understood that the study will be done in a library or learning setting.
