Inclusive Langauge Policy

The Division of Ministry Development’s policy on inclusive language is in accordance with the General Conference of The United Methodist Church, which states:

1. All language about persons shall be inclusive.
2. The church will retain use of Biblical images of God, including the traditional Trinitarian formula, “Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”
3. The church shall not restrict the use of other names of God.
