NIC Purpose, Vision & Priorities

Purpose Statement

The purpose of the Annual Conference is to make disciples for Jesus Christ by equipping its local churches for ministry, and by providing a connection for ministry beyond the local church; all to the glory of God.

Vision Statement

We envision the North Indiana Conference to be an inclusive church whose heart and soul are committed to Christ, which is expressed by a passion for God and a passion for people.

Our passion for God means we will be a church which includes...

  • vital worship
  • spiritual formation
  • openness to God's prophetic voice
  • increasing stewardship of life under the reign of God

Our passion for people will be directed toward those outside of the church's fellowship, as well as those within the church's fellowship. To be a church with a passion for people means that we will be a church which is...

  • a caring fellowship
  • an inclusive fellowship
  • an evangelistic fellowship

Moving toward this vision, we will experience these indicators...

  • a revitalized clergy
  • an empowered laity
  • congregations focused upon mission
  • a cooperative connection
  • servant leadership at all levels of our church

Priorities

Transforming Persons and Communities

The Church requires leadership that begins with individual spiritual transformation and leads to vision and passion that intentionally reaches those who do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Transformed Leadership

Our priority is to lead from our core values and provide opportunities for leaders to be transformed by the power of God. Leaders, both lay and clergy, empowered by the Spirit of God are passionate about reaching a world with the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Intentional Outreach

Our priority is to reach new population groups and to more effectively reach current population groups with the transforming message of the Gospel in order to help all people find a saving and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
