The Success of a Christian Minister

Mission Statement The North Indiana Conference Division on Ministry Development provides pastors opportunities to be further formed spiritually and professionally in their skills, knowledge and wisdom for more effective and inclusive ministry in the North Indiana Conference.

Success as a Christian minister has several foci. First, success is the articulation of the good news of Jesus Christ for the particular place and people the minister is serving. Second, success is identifying, clarifying, and explaining God’s purpose for the church in this place. Third, success is the ability to invite, exhort, and inspire Christians to enlist in God’s great work among God’s people. Fourth, success comes when the minister is able to maintain a thoughtful, joyful, God-centered faith in the midst of his or her work. Finally, success is the continual desire - hunger to know more about our Creator and the rest of God’s creation.

The Ministry Development program is committed to aiding successful ministry for every professional minister in the North Indiana Conference. (Reaffirmed by the Division in 2004)
