A Changing World

The world is changing – certainly no one can argue with that old cliché. When I began ministry, it was mostly a matter of preaching on Sunday in my two churches, visiting the sick, attending a few meetings, and offering ministry programs for youth, VBS, and a few other groups. My telephone had one line, we printed the bulletins on a hand-cranked mimeograph, my typewriter was a new IBM Selectric with changeable print balls, and many of my parishioners could be visited during the afternoons. Wow, things have changed to multi-faceted ministry, computers, websites, Power Points, video screens, e-mails, etc.

How do we keep updated in a changing world? How do we find time and space for our own development, our own spiritual renewal, and our own growth? One avenue is to take advantage of the Ministry Development options made available through the Annual Conference.

I urge you to take advantage of the opportunities contained within this brochure. May God continue to bless your changing and growing ministry in this changing world.
