TeleEvangelism Mailings & Scripts

Mailings

#1 A letter from pastor conveying appreciation for interest and an introduction to church and special event.

#2-4 Three different mailings sharing information about the church and event.

#5 An attractive printed invitation to the event.

#6 A mailing highlighting the exciting events and reminding prospects that it’s not too late to come.

Mailing Tips

  1. Make sure the mailing’s quality reflects the event and church’s quality.
  2. Don’t promise more than the church is going to give.
  3. Pictures are worth a thousand words; they’re a great way to convey subtly the type of people the event is hoping to reach (age, gender, race, etc.), the dress, atmosphere, facility, etc.
  4. Try to keep enough prospects on the mailing list to get the bulk postage rate.

Possible Calling Script #1 (initial call)

Hello, I’m ________________ (first name) from ____________________ (church) and we’re calling people in our community to let them know that we’re launching/ holding a new/special ______________________ (event) next month. Are you interested in receiving information about it and our church?

If "yes," ask them if they’re actively involved in a church. If they aren’t, complete a Prospect Card. If they are, explain that you’re really trying to reach those who don’t already have a church home. If they still are interested, fill out a card.

Possible Calling Script #2 (call the week before the event)

Hello, I’m ________________ (first name) from ____________________ (church) and we’re calling to remind you that our new/special _________________ (event) is this ______________ (day of the week) at ___________ (time). Can we count on you to join us? Do you know where we’re located? Will you need a ride?

Calling Tips

  1. Faithfully follow the script.
  2. If you don’t know the answer to a question, take their name and number and have someone call them back who knows.
  3. Don’t read the script to a child; ask for the head of the house.
  4. Hang up on busy signals and answering machines. Don’t cross the number off.
