Ralph P. Karstedt Scholarship FundReverend Ralph Karstedt was truly a remarkable person. Although blind since the age of eighteen, he continued to live an active and fulfilling life. He perceived blindness as a challenge, not a disability. Ralph Karstedt was a husband, father, grandfather, bicyclist, HAM radio operator, United Methodist minister, teacher of Lay Academy, choir member, and frequent after dinner speaker, as well as having a unique sense of humor. He was also the accomplished author of two books; both books showing his view of life and his determination to be a witness of Jesus Christ. The Disability in Ministry Resource Team has established a scholarship fund in honor of Rev. Ralph Karstedt. The aim of this scholarship is to provide financial support to those individuals with disabilities who are entering or attending a seminary or course of study program and are pursuing graduate studies with the intent of serving Christ in some form of full time Christian ministry. We hope to begin awarding scholarships in the near future, as soon as the appropriate funds are available. If you are interested in assisting us by contributing to this worthwhile fund, we encourage you to contact the North Indiana United Methodist Foundation, Inc. Donations should be earmarked for the Karstedt Scholarship Fund. The Foundation can be reached at the following address/phone:
The Disability in Ministry Resource Team appreciates all who help in our ministry. |
